The Office of Facilities Planning is responsible for managing the College's space database. The inventory is organized by building data and room use data. The building data includes gross square feet, replacement value, and condition. The room data includes assignable area, number of student stations, and room and function uses. The College is required to submit its facilities data to the Commission on Higher Education every semester. The data is a component in the calculation of annual funding calculation, specifically for the maintenance and operation of physical plant. This data is also applied to classroom and laboratory utilization and other quantitative reports for consideration in the approval process of permanent improvement requests. Several other departments rely on the room number information to track fixed assets, respond to work order requests, and to manage the fire and life safety system.
Currently, updates to the occupant and room and function usages are gathered at the beginning of each fall semester. The inventory is also utilized by departments across campus such as Physical Plant, Information Technology, Public Safety, and Environmental Health and Safety. The Office of Facilities Planning is in the process of digitizing (with the intent to publish) historical and current drawings. Current floor plans are available for all campus-owned buildings and most leased spaces, which can be made available upon request. Please contact Katie West for more information.
